5 Easy Secrets To Increase
Self-Confidence NOW

Five Easy Secrets to Increase Self-Confidence NOW

By Tom Johns

An easy way to get more out of life and be more successful now, is to increase self-confidence. Here are a few simple daily actions that will cause our confidence to explode. There’s nothing better then traveling through life with a feeling of unstoppable power and assurance. But, a lesser amount of self-confidence leads to hopelessness tension, anxiety. These are mental and physical states that will rob us of the success we deserve.

Everyone desires respect from others. Before we can be liked and respected by others, we need to like and respect ourselves. If there is anything we dislike about ourselves we have two choices. Change it or accept it.

For example, say someone wanted to lose 20 pounds. In their mind they believe this would be a component of their success. They could begin doing things that would lead to gradual weight loss.

On the other hand, say someone felt he needed to be 3 inches taller to truly enjoy success. This is something that cannot be changed. Therefore our friend needs to change his thinking regarding his height. He might develop his sense of humor or repartee skills. These are both things that make people enjoy being around us.

To build self-confidence, assume greater control of your life. Identify those things you are dissatisfied with about yourself. Are they things you will change or things you will accept? Create an appropriate plan, and get busy.

To feel successful and confident, it’s important to take pride in our dress and appearance. All this means, is to make sure our hair is clean and groomed, our bodies are washed and smell good, we make good eye contact, we smile, our clothes are neat and clean, and our ratio of body fat to lean muscle is somewhere near normal. These simple things will do wonders to improve our confidence. Knowing we look our best rather then disheveled will make us feel good about ourselves.

To build self-confidence, take pride in your appearance.

Next on our list… take low risk chances by complementing others. Stick your neck out by telling others “nice job”, or they look good, or that their idea was excellent. There is a law of reciprocity in the world. In other words, we need to give in order to receive. If we make it a point to complement others daily, we will receive complements in return. Being complemented by others does wonders to boost how we feel about ourselves.

To build self-confidence, give and receive complements. When complemented, smile big, say “thank you”, and nothing more.

Practice walking tall and proud. Assume the posture of someone who is totally in command and control. Now try to feel uncertain and inadequate. Don’t change your posture. It can’t be done. To feel confident right away, assume the posture and movements of a confident person.

To build self-confidence, sit and stand tall and proud… Like you own the world.

Finally, there is no substitute for action. For example, if you feel uncertain about talking with members of the opposite sex, do somthing. You don’t need to be extreme, just take a simple action. Find someone who looks attractive and nice; say “Hi”, make good eye contacted smile. Ask a question or two, and celebrate your success.

An Internet friend and subscriber to “Daily Success Secrets” stated that he feels somewhat shy at times. He shared that he has a job where he makes presentations to various groups of people He works in auditoriums designed to hold up to 1000 people. He stands on a podium with large screens behind him and on both sides. Where he talks about his company and products.

He tells that at first this was a rough job for him. During his presentations, his voice is shaky and he felt nervous His voice became more shaky, and he‘d become more self conscious. It was a vicious circle.

One day he had a relization. He asked himself, why should I be nervous. I’m doing this because I want to. No one is forcing me to be up here. At that, he became relaxed in front of the audience, the bigger the crowd the better. He’s been speaking in public for over 5 years, and feels it’s as natural as breathing.’’

To build self-confidence, take action. Go do something that makes you uncomfortable. Before you know it, you’ll have conquered that fear. That’s called mastery. Master a fears-expand your possibilities. Increase your self confidence and your whole life improves.
